Triple Cheese Toasted Sandwich

Triple cheese toastie

A gloriously gooey gastronomic feast of a toasted sandwich with the perfect blend of three cheeses.

WARNING – this toastie recipe contains lots and lots of cheese!

Ingredients

You will need the following ingredients to make this triple cheese toastie.

The-three-cheeses
Parmesan, Mozzarella and Cheddar
  • 2 slices of bread
  • Coarsely grated cheddar cheese
  • Coarsely grated mozzarella cheese
  • Finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp of Dijon mustard (Optional)
  • Olive oil or butter for cooking

Method

  1. Mix the cheddar and mozzarella together
  2. Lay out the two slices of bread
  3. Spread the Dijon mustard on each slice
  4. Sprinkle the cheddar and mozzarella mix onto one slice
  5. Place the other slice on top and push down gently
  6. Place in an oiled and heated toasted sandwich maker for 8 minutes
  7. At the 8 minute mark open the sandwich toaster and sprinkle the Parmesan onto the top of the sandwich
  8. Close the sandwich maker and cook for 2 minutes.
  9. After two minutes take out the sandwich and be sure to scrap off the cooked cheese from the sandwich maker and add on top
  10. Cut in half and enjoy

  • Toasted sandwich maker
  • Coarse grater
  • Fine grater

This toastie goes great with Ketchup, pickle or a nice onion chutney on the side.

The Key to this toastie

The real key to make this toastie perfect is to mix the cheddar and the mozzarella together well.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices Bread White, Toastie or Best of Both is recommended
  • Coarse grated cheddar cheese
  • Coarse grated mozzarella cheese
  • Fine grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • Olive oil or butter for cooking

Instructions
 

  • Mix the cheddar and mozzarella together

  • Lay out the bread and spread with mustard
  • Sprinkle one of the slices with the cheddar and mozzarella mix
  • Place the remaining slice on top and press down gently
  • Put the sandwich into an oiled toaster and cook for 8 minutes
  • At the 8 minute mark open the toaster and sprinkle the Parmesan on top then close the lid

  • Cook for 2 minutes and then remove, including any cheese stuck on the sandwich maker. You really want to get all these crispy bits for a change of texture and flavor.
