The best way to learn how to make this Turkey BLT Toastie is to watch me in this 3 minute video.
You need the following ingredients to make this Turkey BLT Toastie.
- Two slices of bread
- Turkey steak
- 2 Slices of Bacon (streaky or back bacon)
- 2 Slices of Gouda Cheese
- 1 Tomato – sliced
- Spring onion (finely chopped)
Follow these steps to make this great tasting Turkey BLT.
Cook the Turkey and Bacon on skillet, frying pan or grill. When you do try to keep the turkey steak moist but get the bacon nice and crispy. You’ll see in the video that my bacon wasn’t quite crispy enough but wasn’t far off.
Toast your bread and once out of the toaster cover both slices with mayonnaise.
Build your toasted sandwich by starting with one slice of cheese, then the tomato, lettuce and spring onion.
Top the lettuce with the bacon and then add your turkey steak. You can add it as one piece or in more bite sized chunks like I did. I did this so I don’t lose all the turkey on the first bite and have the sandwich fall apart on me. Your bacon should be crispy so doesn’t present a similar problem but there is no harm in cutting this up as well.
Add the second slice of cheese and then top with the remaining slice of toast and push down gently.
Cut in halve, you may want to stick a cocktail stick in each half first so that the sandwich doesn’t fall apart, and enjoy.

What to eat this Toastie with
This Turkey BLT Toastie is already very filling and makes a great lunch on its own. However, if you want a bit more food with it or perhaps to have it as a main meal then I suggest cooking up some spicy piri piri fries.
